Prenatal Classes taught by:

Lorraine Merson RN, CCE
As a mother of 2 children (her little boy Evan now 3 years and her little girl Kristina now almost 5 years old), Lorraine is a Registered Nurse with previous experience working in Labour & Delivery/Obstetrics at both Milton and Oakville hospitals, among other hospital in her nursing career. Recently having children has enabled her to teach her prenatal classes with so much more passion and convicition then ever before, as she truly enjoys helping expecting parents prepare for their big day, and the months of new parenthood that follows.
Lorraine has been offering Professional Prenatal classes in both the hospital and private setting in Halton and Peel Region for over ten years. From early on when she began teaching prenatal classes in the hospital setting, she always had the vision of adding all of the extras that were lacking in the typical prenatal classes out there. For example, there is a lot more attention paid to the small details, including tasty snacks, drinks and a very useful workbook to help you learn and review the class material. Also, there is lots more hands on practice to help couples feel more comfortable, engaged and excited to be attending Birthing and Babies Prenatal classes. Her goal is to help decrease your anxieties about labour and birth, while helping you feel empowered and aware of the choices available to you. If you want to have fun, laugh, and learn in a casual interactive atmosphere, then Birthing and Babies Prenatal Classes are definitely for you! Just read the TESTIMONIALS section on this website and you will see what everyone is talking about....
Dear Expectant Parents,
I must admit, after having been through the whole experience personally (I recently gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Evan, in December 2006 by caesarean and also my little angel, daughter Kristina, back in March 2005 through a vaginal delivery) I can’t help but feel completely blessed and thankful for being given the priveledge of being the mother of these two precious little bundles. You too, will soon experience the greatest miracle and love of your life- your new baby.
Since then, it has been my passion to learn the ins and outs of how to be a parent. As the new mom in me learned about this role, the teacher in me kept taking mental notes to pass along to you, my future expectant parents. Now, a few years later, I would love to share with you(as a new mom and a registered nurse) information not only about your pregnancy, labour, birth, and delivery, but also lots of helpful, practical and useful knowledge about the first few months at home with your new baby. I also discuss some "greener" options available for new parents and babies, including ways you can help make your home safer for your new baby (and anything else that comes to mind!).
Sincerely,
Lorraine Merson
